Hayward DEX2400H Filter Element Locator (Bottom Grid Locator) for Pro-Grid & MicroClear Vertical D.E. Filters
The Hayward DEX2400H is an OEM filter element locator (also called a bottom grid locator)
used on select Hayward vertical grid D.E. filters. It mounts at the bottom of the grid assembly to help
properly align and position the filter grids so they seat correctly inside the tank for reliable filtration and easier reassembly.

What It Does
- Keeps the grid pack properly centered and aligned at the bottom of the filter
- Helps prevent mis-seated grids that can lead to poor sealing, internal bypassing, or difficult reassembly
- Supports smooth installation of the grid assembly after cleaning or seasonal service
Common Reasons to Replace
- Locator is cracked, warped, or brittle from age/chemicals
- Grid assembly wont sit squarely in the tank after cleaning
- Repeated internal alignment issues during reassembly
- Preventive replacement during a grid rebuild or deep-clean service

Installation Notes
- Turn off the pump and fully relieve filter pressure before opening the filter.
- Remove the grid assembly and install the locator in the correct position at the bottom of the grid pack.
- Inspect grids for tears and check the standpipe/O-ring area while the filter is open.
- After reassembly, recharge D.E. per your filters specifications (for D.E. filters).

Maintenance Tips
- When you open the filter, rinse and inspect the locator and grid base areagrit can prevent the grid pack from seating squarely.
- If you see D.E. returning to the pool, inspect grids for tears and confirm the grid pack is aligned and seated correctly.
- Keep water chemistry balanced to reduce scale that can make filter components harder to assemble and service.
- Never loosen clamps or open the filter while it is under pressure.
